Outdoor Living
Lately a lot of people have taken to spending more time and money outdoors on their patio and in their yard.
People are realizing how much natural gas can improve your quality of life.
Protech can run your gas line from the inside, along the foundation, underground, overhead - whatever it takes to get gas to your
barbecue, patio heater, fireplace, etc.
Gas Barbecues
Of course there is the natural gas bbq. Nothing beats cooking on the grille. The barbecues of today don’t look too much like the old ones.
They now have back burners, side burners, non flare burners, ovens, grilles, built in, and some are actually outdoor kitchens.
No matter what type of barbie you have there is one convenience you almost can’t do without, natural gas.
One comment you will never hear from someone is how they love the inconvenience of having to disconnect their propane tank,
leave their dinner guests, and run down to get the tank refilled only to find out either they are closed or worse find out you’re expiry date
on your tank has expired, and you have to buy a new tank as well.
Even worse than that you get back and find out your guests drank all your beer while they were waiting.
Of course there are a few smart ones out there who will say that they have a spare tank ready.
We’re not sure how smart it is to store full propane tanks on your property, but you could always ask your home insurance provider
if they would like you to store full propane tanks in your yard, garage, basement, etc.
Patio Heaters
Another comment you will never hear is that most of the evenings in Calgary are just too hot.
The patio heater is becoming a must have appliance on the patio. You spend a lot of money on your patio and back yard and
you just want to enjoy it more than just the odd warm evening.
These can usually plug into the same quick connect as your bbq. Again these come in propane as well but why would you want the inconvenience.
Many people are going to the overhead tube patio heaters. They originally started showing up in restaurant patios but a lot of people are realizing how efficient they are at heating up bodies over a larger area.
They aren’t too much more expensive than an umbrella style patio heater.
Gas Fire Pits
Natural gas fire pits are now starting to come in many styles and sizes. Some are portable and can be plugged into your barbecue outlet.
Other fire pits are permanent or built in.
Protech Gasfitting can also run a log lighter to your wood fire pit for fast and easy starting.
Of course we would prefer you installed a gas firepit, much better for the environment.
Out Door Fireplaces
Lately more and more outdoor gas fireplaces are showing up on the patio or in the backyard. These aren’t as expensive as you may think.
I don’t have to tell you how enjoyable it would be to sit in front of one of these on a chilly Calgary evening.
Some are putting in outdoor wood fireplaces but you will of course want a gas log lighter installed for easy lighting.
Gas Lighting
Gas lights have been around awhile but natural gas lighting can still enhance the appeal and add a certain ambience to your yard and deck.
Swimming Pool Heaters
Over the last few years we have run gas to many, many swimming pool heaters. A lot of families are trading in their motorhome
or fifth wheel for a backyard pool. They are getting tired of fighting crowds every weekend and have decided to stay home
and relax by their own pool.
Of course if it wasn't for natural gas you wouldn't be able to enjoy your pool.
Years ago a simple outlet to your deck was all most people had.
Lately we have put over ten outlets into some backyards. Some people are going all out with
swimming pool heaters, outdoor kitchens, huge barbecues, patio heaters, radiant heaters, outdoor fireplaces
firepits, gaslights, gas torches, etc.
